The 'Someone Like You' singer's hit single makes the shortlist for the 85th Academy Awards.

Adele's James Bond theme tune 'Skyfall' has been announced as one of the nominees in the Best Original Song category at the Oscars 2013.

The 'Rolling In The Deep' star penned the track alongside longtime producer Paul Epworth for the latest film in the 007 franchise and will go up against the tracks from the likes of Les Misérables, Life of PI and Ted for the top prize on the night.

The British star's track has already made the shortlist for the Golden Globes 2013 and helped the Skyfall movie pick up a nomination for Best Original Music at this year's BAFTAs.

The singer has also been rumoured to be making an appearance on stage at the 85th Academy Awards to sing the track during a special 50th year anniversary James Bond segment.

Adele is reported to be also making her first live appearance since giving birth last year at this weekend's Golden Globes.
