If you plan to enjoy one or two extra festive treats why not join Capital in Edinburgh on 10 January for a burst of exercise in the annual Great Winter Run. Capital Scotland's Jennie Cook & Garry Spence will be there cheering on runners on the day.
The 5k course takes runners up and around Arthur’s Seat, in the heart of Scotland’s capital city, providing views of Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, the River Forth and beyond.

After blowing away the cobwebs on the 5k run, grab yourself a hot drink, warm clothes and some tasty local food, and enjoy front row views of the Great Edinburgh XCountry.
Give a warm Scottish welcome to some of the world’s best male and female athletes who will be running and leaping over the muddy tracks around Holyrood Park on the challenging cross country courses.
