Katy Perry And Russell Brand Prove Marriage Is Still Strong

The couple were pictured looking happy and relaxed at a charity gala in Los Angeles.

Katy Perry and husband Russell Brand stepped out together at a red carpet event this weekend and proved their marriage is still going strong despite recent reports to the contrary.

The 'California Gurls' singer attended charity gala Change Begins With in Los Angeles on Saturday night (3^rd December), where she also showed off a new shorter, blonde hairstyle.

The couple have been plagued with rumours about their personal lives over the past few weeks, including claims Katy is expecting their first child and reports she has filed for divorce from the comedian.

Katy humorously addressed rumours of a potential break-up on Twitter last week when she wrote, "First I'm pregnant & then I'm divorced?"

Russell also laid rumours of marital strife to rest on Friday (2nd December) during an appearance on US chat show Ellen.

"I've treated the whole internet now like it's a wicked little liar. I'm really happily married," Russell told host Ellen DeGeneres. "I'm married to Kary. Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge."

There was said to be no sign of marriage problems as the couple walked the red carpet at director David Lynch's benefit event.

Katy finished her 'California Dreams' tour two weeks ago and told Capital FM recently she is planning to spend more time with her husband in 2012.
