Pokémon Sleep memes will make you laugh even more than Detective Pikachu...
Pokémon Sleep memes are breaking the internet and it's all thanks to Pokémon's bizarre new mobile game... and no it's not the new Detective Pikachu game.
British Pokémon memes are going viral and honestly they're iconic
Pokémon is having a bit of a revival as of late. The beloved, multimedia franchise never went away but recently the Pokémon universe has gained a whole new legion of fans, and regained some old ones, with its additions over the past few years. Not only was everyone addicted to Pokémon Go but Detective Pikachu is one of the highest grossing movies of the year so far. Now Pokémon has announced a new game called Pokémon Sleep and it's inspired the funniest memes.
Pokémon Sleep, like Pokémon Go, is a video game made for mobile phones. However, whereas Pokémon Go made walking fun, Pokémon Company CEO, Tsunekazu Ishihara, is promising that Pokémon Sleep will: "turn sleeping into entertainment". Um okay? Essentially it will track and monitor your sleep and then use the data it collects in gameplay. The specifics are pretty vague but it essentially looks like it will reward you for sleeping. The app is set to launch in 2020.
Naturally, the internet is as interested as it is bemused by Pokémon Sleep. It's both wildly impressive and a little bit 'What is the point of all this?'. Pokémon never fails us, so we've got our minds open and are eager to see the video game drop next year. Still, the concept is wild and people are now making Pokémon Sleep memes. If the game is as anywhere near as entertaining as these, we're in for a treat.
