Jerrod Blandino also apologised to Nikkie for his sister's comments after fans threatened to boycott Too Faced.

Too Faced co-founder Jerrod Blandino has apologised for his sister's transphobic remarks about NikkieTutorials coming out.

On Monday (Jan 13), Nikkie de Jager came out as trans in a powerful YouTube video. The video was unanimously praised by the internet. However, Jerrod Blandino's sister, Dani California, appeared to make a transphobic dig at Nikkie right after the video came out. She changed her Instagram bio to: "Transgender huh? That's not the only thing she's been lying about".

People instantly began calling Dani out for her comments. Given that Dani has been heavily involved in the cosmetics company ever since it first launched, Nikkie fans started campaigning for customers to boycott Too Faced.

Now, Too Faced has addressed the controversy. Jerrod Blandino has issued a statement apologising to Nikkie and explaining that he has fired his sister.

Yesterday (Jan 15), Too Faced posted a lengthy statement on Twitter with the caption: "A message from Our Founder Jerrod Blandino." The statement reads: "I would like to make sure it is understood that although I love my sister very much, the things she says or does have absolutely nothing to do with me and do not in any way reflect me, my opinions, thoughts, or feelings nor speak for me or Too Faced in any way shape or form."

Jerrod continued: "I have always stood for love, equality and kindness in my life and everything I do. I am sorry for the hurt she has caused. Let it be known that I am truly shocked and disgusted to my core at her recent actions. I do not tolerate this behaviour and she is no longer an employee of Too Faced."

He ended the statement writing: "I would like to say how proud I am of NikkieTutorials and how inspired I am for her strength and sharing her beautiful truth with the world. I am sending all my love to her."

Nikkie previously collaborated with Too Faced on a palette in 2016. However, things turned sour between her and the brand after Nikkie claimed that "they changed the palette’s quality behind [her] back" and rumours surfaced that they underpaid her for the collaboration.

As it stands, Nikkie hasn't addressed Dani or Jerrod's comments. She did thank her fans for their support on Instagram stories though. She said: "The incredible amount of love and support and warmth means so much to me. I just... thank you. Thank you. "
