"Cliff wife" memes are now a thing thanks to this YouTuber's shock video

We're just as confused as you are.
YouTuber Shonduras posted an extremely dramatic video over the weekend, detailing the terrifying moment his wife had the “near-death experience” of falling off of a cliff.
Posting the video from his family trip to Hawaii, Shonduras - aka Shaun McBride - shared a clip that shows the moment that his wife Jenny McBride fell from the path they were walking on and tumbled down the rocks, landing on a beach.
"I literally thought I was going to die," Jenny McBride sobbed afterwards. "I'm lucky to be here and not even have a broken bone, just [have] a really, really sore body.”
But despite the “terrifying” experience, she escaped the incident mostly unharmed, with just a few scrapes and bruises and was able to carry on the walk with her family.
JENNY FELL OFF THE TRAIL.. scary moment for our family
After the fall, Shonduras claimed the event would change the family’s lives forever, writing in the video's caption that “this really was a life changing experience that has changed our perspective on life, family, and each other".
The only issue? The fall wasn't anywhere near as dramatic as Shonduras described it being so, of course, despite it not being intended to be funny, the incident has offered us countless memes. Let's run through some of the best...
Predictably, some of us had questions about the definition of "a cliff".

I love my Wife. I hate it when she falls off a Cliff. I love when our video about it Goes Viral, though I hate to think of what could’ve happened in a Matter of Seconds.

There was a lot of confusion, tbh, about how we should feel...

Staring - GLARING - at a picture of a cliff. I’ve never been angrier. How dare a cliff try to harm a Wife?

Poetry, as it turns out, sums up the incident perfectly...
"I watched my wife fall off a cliff" is in iambic tetrameter, which means it scans with every other line of some Emily Dickinson poems.

I watched my wife fall off a cliff
And tumble towards the sea
Because I could not stop her plunge
She kindly stopped for me
And so does Avril Lavigne, apparently.
