Woman live-streams plea for help after pet parrot Chanel flies away

Chanel the African Grey parrot has gone viral, after she escaped her Liverpool home and owner Sandra Hannah filmed a hilarious Facebook Live video of her looking for the bird.

2020 has brought the most unlikely of events: a coronavirus pandemic, a High School Musical reunion, and now an African Grey parrot named Chanel has become a gay icon after she escaped her Liverpool home, sparking a mass hunt to find her as she flew towards the canal. You can't make this up.

Also known as Chanel Chanellington, the bird, belonging to Sandra Hannah, supposedly escaped after a neighbour's drill scared her - and Sandra set out on a loud and proud mission to hunt her down while live-streaming, resulting in #FINDCHANEL being the top trend on Twitter.

If you haven't already seen the video which has now been viewed 1.7 million times, a frantic bird-mum, Sandra, can be seen walking down the street screaming out "CHANNNEELLLLLL!" as she tries to recall the bird, named after her pet dog Coco, into coming home - and it's hilarious.

Luckily, she's got Chanel back, and since becoming a viral sensation, they've been posting regular updates of what they've been up to in lockdown, and we're all obsessed.
