Tinie was born Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu on 7th November 1988 and recently celebrated his 25th birthday. The name Tinie Tempah came from looking up the word ‘Anger’ in the thesaurus. He thought Temper sounded too aggressive, so added the ‘Tinie’.
He loves it so much in fact, that last year he launched his own clothing label called Disturbing London.
Once Tinie knew that he wanted to make music there was no stopping him. He began recording music at aged 14.
So far he has collected 3 MOBOs, an Ivor Novello, 2 BRITs and was also nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2011.
The reason he delayed his second studio album was because of some advice he'd taken from Chris. Tinie revealed: "Chris Martin told me, "When you finish an album, write a couple more songs and see what comes out. So that's exactly what I did. At the end of the day, it's art. Nobody ever rushes a painter, or writer. No one's rushing JK Rowling or EL James!"
Before heading out on huge tours of his own, the rapper his hit the road with the likes or Rihanna, Pixie Lott and Tinchy Stryder.
His huge track 'Written In The Stars' was used for the annual sports entertainment extravaganza back in April 2011.
