One Direction took to the stage on the final of The X Factor USA last night (20^th December) to perform their new single 'Kiss You'.

The band's performance echoed their video game style filmed version of the track which they also performed on the UK version of the series earlier this month.

Liam Payne also chats with host Mario Lopez at the end of the performance as he speaks about the contestants' nerves ahead of the winner announcement.

The show was eventually won by country singer Tate Stevens and the news thrilled band member Harry Styles.

"Congratulations @tatestevensctry you deserve it!! Such a nice guy... Great to see him win ," he tweeted shortly after the announcement.

The singer also had some kind words for runners up of the show girl-group Fifth Harmony, adding: "Congratulations to @FifthHarmony tonight!! You were amazing.. You're going to be great. Have a good night .xxx "

Meanwhile, the band recently hit one million sales of their new album 'Take Me Home' in the US - making them the first artists since 2005 to have two million selling albums in the same year.
