Chris opened up about the couple’s sudden split to OK magazine, explaining, “{We met] on Instagram. That seems to be the way to meet girls nowadays! She liked one of my pictures and I thought, it can't be that Jesy, surely not, but it was.
"Our relationship came at a difficult time, because the band were touring America, so we mostly spoke on the phone. She was only in my life for about three months.
“I didn’t understand why she was interested in me – I’m just someone from TOWIE. I always felt like second best to Jesy. But that was my issue, not hers.”
After rumours he split with Jesy over the phone, fans were quick to speculate that Chris had been using Jesy’s fame to boost his own profile, which he denies, “I’ve been trolled and it’s been tough. Jesy and I ended on good terms, I didn’t use her.”
His PR team had previously disputed the claims, stating, “The suggestion that Chris would use a relationship as a publicity stunt is absurd. It didn't work out due to distance and differences in their lifestyles.”
