The US star has scored a number one on the iTunes chart on both sides of the Atlantic this week.

Lady Gaga has shot straight to number one on the iTunes UK chart this week less than 24 hours after releasing new song 'Do What U Want'.

The 'Applause' singer unveiled the track, which features on new album 'ARTPOP', earlier this week and the song has already proved a huge chart hit despite not being an official single.

"Do What U Want' was released this week and has already hit number one on both the US and the UK iTunes charts, just under a month before the album 'ARTPOP' hits stores.

The new song features guest vocals from 'I Believe I Can Fly' singer R Kelly, and follows the release of Gaga's lead album single 'ARTPOP' last month.
