The Twitter reaction begins after it is confirmed that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting her first child.
Cheryl Cole, Olly Murs and a host of other celebrities have congratulated Prince William and Kate Middleton after it was announced that the Duchess Of Cambridge is pregnant.
Members of the royal family have expressed their delight at the news, which was announced at 4pm today (3rd December).
Kate has been admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in central London with acute morning sickness and is expected to remain there for a several days, according to an official statement.
Cheryl Cole, a friend of the royal couple, wrote on Twitter: "I'm sooooooo excited that we're having a royal baby!!!! Congratulations to Kate and Wills!!!!!!"
Olly Murs said: "Cool #royalbaby that's amazing news!!"
And Rochelle Wiseman of The Saturdays, who recently announced that she was expecting a baby with Marvin Humes of JLS, said: "Ahhhh yayyy Kate Middleton is pregnant ♥congrats xx."
Kate and William were married during a high profile ceremony at Westminster Abbey in April 2011. The Duchess was last seen in public last week.
"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news," the royal family said.
"The Duchess was admitted this afternoon to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum [acute morning sickness].
"As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Royal Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter."
"I'm delighted by the news that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting a baby," said Prime Minister David Cameron. "They will make wonderful parents."
It has been reported that Kate is not yet 12 weeks into the pregnancy, but the announcement about her pregnancy was made due to her medical condition.
