Police have a released an e-fit image of a man they want to trace after a woman was seriously sexually assaulted on the outskirts of Leeds.
Officers were alerted after a 23-year-old woman flagged down a passing taxi on Harrogate Road in the countryside north of Alwoodley at about 3.25am on Thursday, January 8.
The victim told officers she had been assaulted by a man who picked up her up in a car in King Lane, near to the junction with Buck Stone Gardens, after she became lost while trying to find her way back into the city centre after calling at an address in Moortown.
The suspect had been heading towards Leeds when he pulled up next to the victim. She asked him for directions to Leeds train station and he agreed to take her there.
He turned the car around and drove off down King Lane into the countryside before eventually parking up on a lane that leads from the A61 to Eccup Reservoir where the attack took place. He drove off leaving the victim at the scene and took her purse and mobile phone.
The suspect was described as a light-skinned Asian male with black hair that was shaved on both sides and spiky at the front.
He had blue/green eyes, long eyelashes and stubble. He had a stud earring in his left ear and was wearing a black hoodie with white stripes down the arms, a white t-shirt, grey Adidas jogging bottoms and white trainers. He had short chewed finger nails and a silver band ring on his right middle finger.
The vehicle involved was said to be similar to a silver four-door Vauxhall Corsa, which was 'boy racer' style with deck chair type seats in black and red and with two black speakers on the parcel shelf.
Detective Inspector Phil Jackson, of Leeds District CID, said: "The detailed description of the suspect and the vehicle together with the e-fit image paints a very distinctive picture and we would like to hear from anyone who thinks they know who it might be.
"The car was travelling along King Lane into Leeds in the early hours so it could be that he was travelling back from work that way. I would ask anyone who recognises him or who has any information that could assist the investigation to contact us immediately."
