East Yorkshire Prison Stabbing

A prisoner has been stabbed at Full Sutton prison in East Yorkshire.

The Ministry of Justice say it happened yesterday afternoon around 4pm, when another inmate attacked him.

Full Sutton, near Stamford Bridge is a Maximum-security prison, which holds some of the countries most difficult and dangerous criminals.

A spokesperson said: "The prisoner was taken by ambulance to hospital and treated for a stomach wound; he was returned to the prison that night.

"The police are investigating and the prison will conduct an internal investigation."
