Arrested Leeds Man Dies

A man who was tasered and arrested by police in Leeds for refusing to hand over a knife, has died from stab wounds.

Officers were called to Poplar Square in Farlsey in the early hours where a woman was found with stab wounds.

Police said the man was armed with a knife which he refused to surrender and officers then used a taser gun.

Officers then discovered the man had stab wounds. He died later in hospital. The woman's injuries are not said to be life-threatening.

Police have referred the case to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
