Sex Assault In Brighouse

Police have released images of a man they want to speak to in connection with a sexual assault in Brighouse.

Enquiries are ongoing into the sexual assault which took place at around 6.40am on September 1, as the 22-year-old female victim was walking along the towpath.

She was approached by a white man with a receding hairline who attempted to sexually assault her. The man fled towards Briggate after the victim resisted.

He was described as 5"9" - 6"0" tall, aged 40-50 years of medium build with a receding hair line.

Detective Sergeant Simon Archer of Calderdale CID said: "We are continuing enquiries into this incident and I would like to speak to anyone who can help identify the man pictured who ran through the centre towards Briggate shortly after the attempted sexual assault.

"He will have been seen by a number of people out and about at that time of day and we are very keen to trace and speak with him.

"I would also continue appeal to anyone who was in and around the area who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to come forward as they may hold vital information."
