Terms and conditions for National Lottery competition on Capital, ending 23:59 on 22nd July.

RULES

  1. The following rules (“Specific Rules”) together with the general competition terms and conditions which can be found at http://www.capitalfm.com/terms-conditions/competition/ (the “ Competition Terms and Conditions” of Global as defined in the Competition Terms and Conditions) apply to ‘The National Lottery – Rio Competition’ radio competition (the “Competition") which will run from 20/07/16 to 22/07/16 on the Capital Network (the “Radio Station”).
  2. Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have read and accepted the Specific Rules and the Competition Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them. 

Details of the Competition:

  1. To enter the Competition an Entrant must go to www.capitalfm.com and register their details.  Online entry will open at 10.30 on 20/07/16 and close at 23.59 on 22/07/16.
  2. Entrants will need to upload their photo.
  3. By submitting an image to the site www.capitalfm.com and the Radio Station you: (i) warrant that you control all copyright and all other rights (including, without limitation, performers’ rights) in and to such image; and (ii) confirm the grant by you to the Radio Station [and Global Radio] of a worldwide, perpetual, royalty free licence in the copyright and all other rights in and to the image (including, without limitation, performers’ rights) and you waive any moral rights and like rights you have in relation to the image; so that the Radio Station [and Global Radio] shall be entitled to use the image in any and all media at no cost to the Radio Station [and Global Radio] and such use shall not infringe the rights of any third party.
  4. Global reserve the right to disqualify entries that are in bad taste or obscene.
  5. From all of the eligible entries received 1 entrant will be selected at random.
  6. All Entrants selected will be required to talk to the presenter(s) and the conversation will be recorded and played on-air.
  7. If the caller fails to answer a return call from Global, is driving at the time of the call and is unable to pull over, cannot continue the call for any reason or the phone line is not of a suitable quality for broadcast (at the discretion of the producer) the call may be terminated and another entrant selected at random.
  8. The entrant will be brought to air to be announced as the winner of the competition.

Eligibility:

  1. Entrants must be 18 years of age or over.
  2. 12.  Entry is restricted to one entry per person; duplicate entries will be excluded from the Competition.

Return economy flights for two from a London airport to Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)

6 nights accommodation at a 4* centrally located hotel in Rio de Janeiro based on 2 people sharing a twin room (twin or double) on a bed and breakfast basis

A pair of tickets to 5 x Olympic Game events (to be selected by Camelot)

Travel insurance for the duration of the trip

Return transfers from Rio de Janeiro airport to the hotel

Itinerary:

 

Flying on Tuesday 9th August you will land in Rio that evening and be transported to your 4* centrally located hotel for an evening of relaxation and recuperation.

On Wednesday 10th you and your guest will be provided with tickets to attend Hockey from 1000-1415 at Deodoro (competing teams to be confirmed). GB’s women’s Hockey team claimed the Bronze at London 2012 and, along with the GB men’s team, will be pushing for the podium once more.

On Thursday 11th you and your guest will have a day at leisure to explore Rio as you see fit

On Friday 12th you and your guest will be provided with tickets to attend the Rowing from 0830-1140 at Lagoa. This session will include the iconic Men’s Four final where GB are reigning OIympic Champions and will be looking to defend their title in Rio.

On Saturday 13th you and your guest will be provided with tickets to the Boxing from 1100-1400 at Barra da Tijuca. Team GB won five Olympic medals in the ring at London 2012 and will once again be hoping to deliver a dominant performance in Rio. This session will include the Men’s Heavyweight Semi-Finals.

On Saturday 13th evening you and your guest will then be provided with tickets to the Athletics from 2000-2315 at the iconic Maracana Stadium. A highlight of London 2012 was Super Saturday as Mo Farah, Greg Rutherford and Jess Ennis all claimed gold in one unparalleled evening of athletics success for Team GB. This session, by incorporating the Men’s 10,000m final, the Men’s Long Jump Final and the Women’s Heptathlon Final, offers the tantalising prospect of Mo Farah, Jess Ennis and Greg Rutherford trying to replicate their extraordinary achievements at London 2012

 

Prize Terms & Conditions:

  1. The prize will be for 6 nights departing on the 9th August.
  2. Standard Terms and Conditions for tickets to the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games apply. 
  3. Selection of events and travel dates are at the Promoter’s discretion. 
  4. Winners’ guests must be at least 18 years old and UK residents on the day of booking the trip. 
  5. Winners and guests must have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity from the day they return to the UK after the trip in order to secure their own tourist visa if necessary. 
  6. Prizes do not include local (i.e. UK) airport transfers, tourist visas, passports, meals (unless otherwise stated), any other costs of a personal nature are not stated, all of which will be the sole responsibility of winners and guests. 
  7. Prizes must be booked via the travel agency nominated by Camelot and once a booking has been confirmed no changes are permitted. 
  8. If a booking is cancelled no alternative tickets will be issued.  For the avoidance of doubt, no compensation and/or refund will be provided. 
  9. Exact travel dates/times will be confirmed by Camelot after the prize winner has been contacted. 
  10. Travel must be taken at the stated dates/times, no alternatives available. 
  11. Name changes to the flight seats once confirmed are not permitted. 
  12. Winners must be eligible to fly on the dates of travel in order to claim their prize. 
  13. Winners must alert the Promoter about any accessibility needs of the winner or guest upon accepting their Prize to allow for arrangements to be made. 
  14. Flights cannot be used in conjunction with any airline loyalty programme, any other discount, discount coupon(s), or voucher(s), promotion(s) or special offer. 
  15. Prize flights are subject to the airline’s standard terms and conditions. 
  16. Frequent flyer points cannot be accrued on the flight tickets. 
  17. An upgrade cannot be purchased on these tickets with cash or frequent flyer points. 
  18. Once flight tickets have been issued, the Promoter, shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its dispute war, terrorist activity, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, or any other circumstances beyond the control of the Promoter or travel companies. 
  19. There is no cash alternative. 
  20. Prizes are non-transferable and non-refundable. 
  21. Basic travel insurance is provided based on standard health terms only. 
  22. The Promoter is not responsible for elements of the Prize, such as meet and greet, events etc. that is outside of its direct control and cannot be held responsible for cancellations or delays. 
  23. The Promoter reserves the right to void any part of the Prize and demand compensation if winners or guests; do not act or behave with a spirit of this Promotion, for example if they break the law, consuming excessive amount of alcohol and getting drunk, dressed indecently and inappropriately taking drugs, defame, misrepresent or using remarks about any person, including but not limited to the Promoter, as determined in the sole discretion of the Promoter, using abusive or offensive language, statements, comments or endorses any form of hate or hate group.

Global reserves the right to substitute the prize with another prize at its absolute discretion.
