Man Suffers Black Outs After Bus Attack

Police in Southampton are appealing for witnesses after a man with learning difficulties was attacked as he rode on a number one bus to Weston.

The 28-year-old caught the ‘number one’ First bus from outside Primark in the city Centre at around 12.40pm on Monday, January 9. He sat near to the back.
 
Three youths got on at a bus stop by the Itchen Bridge and sat behind him. During the journey two of them punched him in the side of the head.

The bus was travelling from Southampton city centre towards Weston. The bus was on the Itchen Bridge when the assault occurred. The three youths had been pulling at his hat and it was when he asked them to stop that he was hit. 
 
They got off at the shops in Weston at Weston Lane and the victim remained on the bus. He later went to Southampton General Hospital for medical treatment after suffering black-outs following the attack. 
 
Officers are now asking for people to get in contact with them if they saw the attack or they think they saw the males involved.
 
The three attackers are all white and were aged in their mid to late teens. One had short dark curly hair and was thin and wearing a dark jacket with jeans. The second was wearing a baseball cap, a blue jacket and grey jogging trousers.He was skinny and about 5ft 4 inches tall. The third youth was wearing a grey jacket and blue jeans and had a red gym bag on his back. He was also thin and about 5ft 3 inches tall.
