Drugs stolen from two veterinary practices on the Isle of Wight.
Police are warning members of the public not to experiment with unknown substances following the theft of drugs from two veterinary practices on the Isle of Wight during July.
The drugs were stolen from surgeries in Chapel Street, Newport and Sandown Road, Sandown.
The stolen drugs include:
Dolethal - a euthanasia product for animals
Sedator - an animal sedative
Atipam; reverses sedative effects in animals
Vetergesic - Postoperative analgesia
Detective Constable Zoe Church from Newport police station said: "The stolen substances are only intended for use on animals under veterinary supervision. If you find these drugs you should contact the police immediately and avoid handling them.
"I would also like to warn those people who may consider experimenting by accepting offers of drugs. You need to ask yourself whether you seriously know what ingredients make up the substance you're thinking of taking.
Your decision to experiment could have terrible consequences for your health, life and family"
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact DC Church at Newport police station by phoning 101. Mini-Com users can call the police on 18001 101. Information can be given anonymously by calling the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
