2 November 2011, 07:10

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked and left with a fractured jaw in a Southampton nightclub.

The 18-year-old was in the Icehouse Nightclub at leisure World at around 2.20am on Saturday, October 29 when he was assaulted as he was on the dance floor with friends. A man pushed and then punched him for what appears to be no apparent
reason.

The teenager had to have two operations at Southampton General Hospital to insert metal plates to mend his jaw and is currently in hospital recovering.

Officers are now appealing for any witnesses who were in the club or the Leisure World area at the time who may have seen what happened or those involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable Nick Gray at Shirley CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
