£5,000 Worth Of Jewellery Stolen

Police are investigating a burglary in Portsmouth where jewellery worth £5,000 was stolen.

Between 11pm on Friday, October 19 and midnight on the morning of Saturday, October 20, 2012, someone went into the house in Aylen Road, Copnor, while an 80 year old woman was upstairs.  

The jewellery had taken her a lifetime to collect. 

This includes watches, bracelets, earrings and rings. One of the watches is described as a silver metal ladies’ watch containing big square blue stones. Another was described as a silver 'Marcel Drucker' watch. 

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the streets near the railway line late on Friday night or just after midnight on Saturday morning in the Copnor area. 

Officers are trying to find the jewellery, they think the thief may no try to sell it.
