£12k Of Jewellery Stolen From Hotel

£12,000 worth of jewellery's been stolen from three rooms at an Isle of Wight hotel.

A man entered the Ocean Hotel on Sandown Esplanade on Friday 23 August.

He got away with a large quantity of ladies jewellery, including several heavy gold and diamond bracelets, a large stoned ruby and diamond high set ring, a Chopard gold floating diamond necklace, a topaz necklace, ring and earrings, several pairs of diamond earrings, two mobile phones and a digital hand held motion camera.

The suspect is described as white, aged between 40 – 50 years, slim build, skinny face with black hair which is longer on top and greying around the sides. He was wearing a short sleeve light coloured - possibly blue shirt and blue jeans

Investigating Officer, DC Victoria Hayward said:

“This is a very rare occurrence during a busy bank holiday weekend and we are asking members of the public or businesses who have an interest in buying or selling jewellery to be on the lookout for someone trying to sell this rare and unusual jewellery. Some items may not be hallmarked as they were purchased abroad."
