Police were called out in the early hours of this morning to a flat in Salford and found a man with fatal chest injuries.

Officers went to Sycamore Court in Pendleton and found that a 39-year-old man had been pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men, aged 65 and 45 have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detective Inspector Andy Cunliffe said: "This investigation is at an early stage and a team of detectives are investigating the circumstances leading up to this man's death."

"I would like to try and reassure people living in the area that this appears to be an isolated incident and I would ask people not to speculate about what they think may have happened."
