A man from Bolton has pleaded guilty and been jailed for sexually abusing a child.
73 year old Thomas Green of Sandham Walk in Great Lever pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to four counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual activity in the presence of a child at Bolton Crown Court.
He's been jailed for three years and four months and ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.
Green was also issued with a sex offenders prevention order for life.
Between 2008 and 2011 Green sexually assaulted a girl, who is now 13, on numerous occasions.
Detective Constable Lee Gridley from the Public Protection Investigation Unit in Bolton said: “Green abused the trust his victim showed in him and has caused her a lot of misery in her young life.
“Thankfully, she showed the courage to come forward and help us put Green where he belongs; behind bars.”
