Derbyshire's chief fire officer suspended

The chief fire officer of Derbyshire has been charged with rape

Police have confirmed that Sean Frayne from Etwall was arrested last month and charged yesterday afternoon.

The charge relates to an alleged incident in Etwall in December 2006.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service have told Capital that Mr Frayne has been suspended from his post until further notice.

The 47-year-old is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates at the end of the month.
