Notts prison rated 'dirty and unsafe'
HMP Ranby in Nottinghamshire's been called unsafe by prison inspectors.

In their latest report they say they're extremely worried about safety and inspectors found evidence violence is increasing.

They were also worried about the amount of drugs available, like legal highs and that self-harming is increasing.

Health care is improving.


Leicestershire Police reveal how they're saving millions
Leicestershire Police reckon using sites like Twitter and Facebook more in the future will help them build stronger relationships with the public.

It's one change the force is making as they try to cut £15 million pounds from their budget.

The force also told capitalfm.com that police officers won't be involved in every stage of a criminal investigation when changes to local policing come in later this year.

Instead civilian staff members will help officers solve crimes to take the pressure off the force.

 

Rare Amur leopard's born at Twycross Zoo

Capital's been told the arrival of the two cubs is a significant step forward in ensuring the survival of the Amur species on the brink of extinction.

There are fewer than 50 Amur leopards in the wild.

They found two suitable mates by a kind of animal 'online dating' matching up captive Amur leopards from zoos across Europe.


Outlaws make T20 quarter-finals
Nottinghamshire have made it to the quarter-finals of cricket's T20 Blast competition.

They won by 22 runs at Northamptonshire.

If the Outlaws win their game on Friday night, they'll get a home tie at Trent Bridge.
