Five Arrests After Grimsby Axe Report

Five people have now been arrested in connection with an incident in Grimsby's Stanley Street,

Police were called at 8.53pm on Sunday July 12 to reports of a man in the street with an axe.

A number of uniformed officers were sent to the scene, along with an armed response unit and police dog handlers.

A number of members of the public gathered in the street as police were dealing with the incident and a glass bottle was thrown in the direction of officers.

Three people, a 22-year-old Grimsby man, a 23-year-old man of no fixed address and a 17-year-old Cleethorpes woman, were arrested for affray and an axe was recovered.

A 40-year-old Cleethorpes woman has now also been arrested on suspicion of witness intimidation and a 21-year-old Cleethorpes man on suspicion of affray.

The five people remain in custody at Grimsby Police Station.
