A 37-year-old man's been arrested in Keighley in connection with the thefts of a mobile, laptops and other equipment from a children's cancer ward.

A mobile phone and a laptop have been recovered.

The man was subsequently bailed pending further enquiries.

Inspector Richard Clarke, who heads Leeds City Neighbourhood Policing Team, said:

"We are very much aware of the high level of public interest in these offences given the location in which they have occurred and we are conducting a full and comprehensive investigation into them.

"The arrest of this man and the recovery of some of the stolen items are significant developments and we will be continuing our enquiries to establish the full circumstances and take positive action.

"We are very grateful to all the members of the public who have assisted us with information but we would ask that people exercise caution, particularly around what information they post on social media that could potentially impact on our active investigation."
