Man Arrested After Knife Threats
A man was knocked to the ground by an unmarked police car after resisting arrest outside Leeds Crown Court.
A man who resisted arrest after holding a knife and threatening members of the public atLeeds Crown Courtand Leeds Magistrates Court was eventually stopped after officers in an unmarked police car knocked him down.
At 10 am this morning police were alerted when a man entered the crown court building and produced a knife after being challenged by security staff.
He left the building, but was followed by police officers. He then made his way to the Magistrates court and made threats to members of the public.
Officers attempted to control him using batons and CS spray. The man continued to resist and was eventually controlled when officers in an unmarked car knocked him to the ground. The man was not injured, and a knife was taken from the scene.
The man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.
