Double Murder Suspect Charged

A man suspected of the murder of a woman in Whitby and a man in Middlesbrough has been charged.
36-year-old James Allen, who was arrested in Leeds after being spotted by an off-duty police officer will appear before magistrates today.
50 year old Julie Davison, from Whitby and 81 year old Colin Dunford, from Middlesbrough, were found dead at their homes last week, having suffered head injuries.
James Allen has been charged with two counts of murder, rape, false imprisonment, assault and witness intimidation.
He appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court this morning.
He has been remanded into custody.
