16 Year Old Held Over Rotherham Rape

Police have arrested a 16 year old boy after a woman was sexually assaulted in a park in Rotherham.

She told officers she was raped near Warren Road in Wickersley park at around 6.30pm yesterday evening.

Police have launched an investigation and are reassuring members of the public that this was an isolated incident.

The teenager remains in police custody and will be interviewed by detectives today.

The victim is being supported by specially trained officers at this time.

A cordon is in place at the scene while police carry out their enquiries.
