The fish tube memes have arrived and they're amazing.
One week the internet is obsessed with an over-the-top hypothetical scenario about 30-50 feral hogs attacking small children. The next week, our new collective fixation is the "fish tube meme", of course. A video of a fish being transported inside of a tube has gone viral this week, as has the very fascinating concept of a "salmon cannon".

According to Vox, man made dams have been harmful to fish migration, a problem which the salmon cannon apparently aims to address.
Cheddar explains that the salmon cannon aka "fish tube" is a transportation system that was "made to transport salmon between bodies of water in order to restore migratory patterns". They say it has been used in Norway and the United States.
There was something oddly satisfying about the fish being placed into the transportation system and coming out on the other side. Twitter went full feral hogs on the impressive clip, meme-ing it for everything it was worth.
Some people were imagining what it must be like to be the fish, while others wanted a turn in the tube for personal reasons. Some just identified with fish and its journey.

Hopefully, we're headed to a future where we can all be launched through a soft tube at great speeds.
