Tesco Driver Strikes Called Off
Tesco Drivers have temporarily suspended their strikes this week.
Nearly two hundred lorry drivers at a Tesco distribution centre in Doncaster postponed planned strikes while unions have fresh talks to avoid redundancies. The staff, who work for Eddie Stobart Limited (ESL), are angry with potential job losses.
Members of the Unite union at the site were due to walk out for 48 hours from Thursday in a row with their employer, Eddie Stobart Ltd.
Unite regional officer Harriet Eisner said: Stobart has confirmed it intends to put an offer on the table, so we are suspending Thursday's and Friday's action pending the talks on Friday.'
They added that further action hasn't been ruled out, but for now work will carry on as normal.
The 180 drivers involved in the dispute took two days of strike action last week.
