Man Charged After Bradford Mugging Death

Detectives have charged a man with manslaughter after an 89 year old woman died after she was robbed in the street in Gomersal.

26 year old Paul Halstead is up before Dewsbury Magistrates on Tuesday 21st of June. He is also charged with 2 counts of robbery.

A West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said : "At 1.54pm police were called to reports that an 89 year old woman had been robbed on Quarry Road near to the junction of Oxford Road.

She was reportedly attacked by a man who made off with her bag and left her with serious head injuries.

She was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary but later died of her injuries.''
