A 19-month-old boy has died after falling into a lake at a caravan park in Skegness.
The toddler, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead after being taken to Boston's Pilgrim Hospital from Ingoldmells, near Skegness, at about 5.40pm on Saturday.
The death of the youngster, whose parents were staying at the Water Leisure caravan park in Walls Lane, is not being treated as suspicious.
Commenting on the circumstances of the death, Sergeant Andy Hickinbottom, who is based at Skegness police station, said:
'It appears to be a terrible and tragic accident.
'The little boy wandered from his parents for a matter of minutes and was missing for a very short time before being found in the water. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to his family.'
The boy, whose parents are from Peterborough, has not been identified by Lincolnshire Police, which said an inquest was expected to be opened and adjourned tomorrow afternoon.
