A stolen JCB vehicle has crashed into a house after it was chased by police through a town.
Humberside Police said the yellow telescopic telehandler was abandoned by the driver after it collided with a building in Goole, East Yorkshire.
Officers are now appealing for help to locate the man who fled the scene.
The man is described as well-built, in his 20s wearing a baseball cap and high visibility tabard.
He ran off in the direction of the railway footbridge.
A telehandler is a large fork-lift type machine, used in industry and on farms.
A force spokesman said: "Police were involved in a pursuit in Goole just after 10pm last night (Tuesday) as a stolen JCB was driven through the streets of Goole before being abandoned.
"A police pursuit of the JCB ended as it was abandoned on Argyle Street causing damage to a house as the driver fled the scene.
"Police searched the area without success and are appealing for anyone who has information that might help them identify the driver.''
