8ft snow drifts and black ice is causing major disruptions across Yorkshire.
Many roads on high ground have been closed because of drifting snow.
Dozens of schools across the county are closed, most of them in Bradford and Kirklees areas.
Leeds Bradford Airport is open but a spokesperson said there was still some flight disruption and urged people to check with their airlines.
Mountain Rescue teams have been out across the county rescuing people caught in the drifts.
The Met Office tell Capital the winter weather is expected to last until after Easter.
