Search For Bawtry Attacker Continues
South Yorkshire Police investigating the assault on Iain Eldridge are handing out posters in the area, in a bid to gain more information on the attacker.
35-year-old Iain Eldridge, is in a critical condition in a Sheffield hospital, after being attacked in the early hours of New Year's Day on Station Road in Bawtry, Doncaster.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Steve Whittaker said: "I'm appealing for anyone with information to please come forward. Think about what Iain’s family are going through. What if this was your son, brother or father?
"Iain was in the Penny Farthing earlier that evening with his girlfriend and the suspect may have been in that pub too or any other pubs in Bawtry. Were you out in Bawtry? Did you take any photos that may help us?"
Following the assault the man fled down Station Road towards Austerfield.
The suspect is described as a white man, of a stocky build. He is thought to be in his late 20s to early 30s and has short blond hair.
