South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after a 22-year-old man died yesterday morning after his quad bike came off the carriageway on Thorne Road, Blaxton, Doncaster.
At 5am on Monday, 7 November, the 22-year-old man, was travelling on a stolen, white quad bike from Blaxton towards Lindholme, when the driver lost control and veered off the road into a wooded area. The quad bike hit several trees and spun round causing the man to be thrown from the bike, before it came to rest in the woods.
The man, from Doncaster sustained fatal head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
There was a grey Vauxhall Zafira travelling with the quad bike, driven by a 23-year-old man with a 16-year-old male front seat passenger. These two people were not reported to have been injured in the crash.
Travelling behind the quad bike in the same direction was a car but the make, model, and colour are not known.
This car did not stop at the scene. Police would like to trace the driver of this vehicle, as they may be able to help the investigation.
