Family Pays Tribute To Teenager Stabbed To Death In Doncaster

The relatives of a teenager stabbed to death in Doncaster have paid tribute to him.

18-year-old Joseph Smith was attacked on Lacarno Road at the junction with Barnsley Road in Moorends around 6 o'clock Wednesday evening. He was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary but died shortly afterwards. A post mortem revealed the cause of death as a single stab wound to the chest.

His family have paid tribute saying "We are all devastated at the loss of Joey; he was a loving son, brother, boyfriend and father. His death leaves a big hole in our family, which we can't fill. He was only 18 and taken from us too soon. We will miss him terribly."

A 15 year old boy who we cannot name for legal reasons has been charged with his murder. He has been remanded in custody.
