Emotional Appeal Over Sheffield Shooting

The grandmother of a man shot dead in Sheffield city centre a month ago is appealing for information following the 'devastating' death of her grandson.
22 year old Jordan Thomas, from Firshill, died when he was fired at while the car he was in was stopped at traffic lights.
His grandma 64 year Lynn Hamblett says "Our lives will never be the same. He was taken on Sunday 21 December and we can never come to terms with the way it happened, and we can never come to terms with the loss that we feel. The impact on the family goes way beyond devastation and it's so, so painful."
Jordan was a passenger in a silver Ford Mondeo at around 10.15pm when the car was shot at while stationary on Derek Dooley Way.
He was taken to hospital but died a short time later. A post mortem examination revealed he died from gun shot injuries.
The driver of the car, a 27-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and has since left hospital.
Ms Hamblett continued:
"The only thing that can give us peace of mind is bringing Jordan's killers to justice, and I have every faith in South Yorkshire Police.
"I would appeal to anybody who knows what happened on the night, or the events leading up to it - however small or insignificant - to come forward. We need to bring Jordan's killers to justice."
A short time after the shooting, a red Mitsubishi Shogun was abandoned in Ponderosa Park in Crookes, Sheffield, and a number of people were seen fleeing the vehicle. The car has been recovered by police and it is suspected it was involved in the incident.
Officers are also interested in a silver 07 plate Volvo, which was seen with the victim's Ford Mondeo in the Burngreave area before the shooting.
DCI Phil Etheridge, who is leading the investigation, said:
"We know that Jordan met with someone in a silver Volvo before he was killed. We want to know who was in that car and why they met.
"We're also interested in speaking to anyone with knowledge of the red Shogun abandoned in Ponderosa Park. Did you see who left it there?
This is an ongoing murder investigation and any information people may have, regardless of how insignificant they think it is, could be crucial to the investigation."
Three men have been arrested in connection with the incident so far. One of them, Mohammed Asif Yousaf, 32, of Violet Bank Road, Sheffield, has been charged with murder and attempted murder.
