Drug Quiz After Student Found Dead In Leeds
A 22-year-olds been arrest after the 18-year-old student was found dead in his halls at Beckett Park in Leeds.
Adam Dixon, a first year Leeds Metropolitan University student from Halifax, was discovered at the halls of residence yesterday morning.
Police said they were not treating his death as suspicious.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A post-mortem examination took place yesterday and the results of toxicology tests are awaited.
"A 22-year-old man from Headingley has been arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs and is currently in custody."
The spokesman said Mr Dixon had been formally identified and an inquest into his death was due to open later this week.
Leeds Metropolitan University paid tribute to Mr Dixon, describing him as a "very popular" multimedia technology student.
In a statement, the university said: "In the early hours of the morning on Sunday 8 January, Leeds Metropolitan University first year student Adam Dixon sadly passed away.
"His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.
"Adam, who was studying a multimedia technology course, was a very popular student and will be greatly missed.
"We are offering support to students who have been affected by Adam's death and we are working with the police and the coroner's office whilst they conduct their investigations."
