Arrests After Fatal Car Crash In Sheffield

Police have arrested five men following a fatal collision in Sheffield in the early hours of Saturday morning.

All the men are aged in their twenties and from the Sheffield area. 

They were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a silver Vauxhall Astra collided with a tree and caught fire on Ellesmere Road in Burngreave.

The driver, a 21-year-old Sheffield man, died following the collision which happened at around 3.40am on Saturday 3 October.

The front seat passenger, a 13-year-old girl, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 203 of October 3 2015.

All five men have been bailed pending further enquiries.
