A man's been charged after 2 men were attacked with a knife in a Harrogate takeaway.

North Yorkshire Police have charged a 41 year old man with 2 counts of wouding with intent and one of possessing an offensive weapon following the attack at Oceans 11 at around 8pm on Saturday 9 July.

A man entered the shop and, after a brief conversation, he allegedly produced a knife and attacked two men - the shop owner and a co-worker - causing minor injuries.

The attack was seen to spill into the street before the police quickly arrived and arrested the man with the knife.

The shop owner, aged 41, and the co-worker, 26, attended Harrogate District Hospital with injuries consistent with a knife attack. They have since been discharged following treatment.

The man's due before Harrogate Magistrates this morning.

Extra patrols have been in place in the area to reassure local people.

Officers believe this was an isolated incident and residents should not be concerned for their safety.
