2 Killed In Barnsley Motorway Smash

Investigations are underway after 2 people died in a crash on the M1 near Barnsley.
It happened yesterday evening just before 9pm on the southbound exit slip road at junction 38.
A Vauxhall Corsa was travelling southbound on the M1 towards the junction when it mounted the nearside slip road kerb before hitting a tree.
A 26 year old man and a 24 year old woman died.
The 23 year old male driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was taken to Pinderfields Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
