Stand in opposition leader in the Bay

The AM for Preseli Pembrokeshire is the temporary leader for the opposition in the Senedd after Andrew RT Davies stood down this morning.

We haven't been given an official reason for his resignation, but it's reported there's a split over Brexit in the party.

Paul Davies has told us Andrew RT Davies has been a great leader of the opposition in Cardiff Bay:

'He's been a fantastic leader of the Welsh Conservatives and he's really held Carwyn Jones and the Welsh Labour Government to account.'

Nominations for the party's leadership contest haven't opened yet.
