Pontypridd Murder: Accused Man In Court

A 50-year-old man has appeared in court for the murder of Tracey Woodford.

Christopher May was charged by police on Sunday, after the 47-year-old’s dismembered body was found in a flat in Pontypridd on Friday.

May appeared briefly at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning and spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.

He’s due to appear at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday.

Meanwhile police are continuing their appeal for witnesses.

Officers are trying to work out Tracey’s movements during the days leading up to the discovery of her body.

She was last seen by her family at 12.45pm on Tuesday 24^th April, but was at the Skinny Dog pub in the town centre that night.

Detective Superintendent Paul Hurley, who is leading the police investigation, said:

 “I would like anybody who hasn’t already come forward to get in touch. I am keen to establish Tracey’s movements over the past week.

“We have received significant support from the public who have no doubt been traumatised by what has unfolded. I would like to thank them for this support and assure them that we are doing everything we possibly can to find out exactly what happened to Tracey.
