Candidate uncomfortable with gender talk

Eluned Morgan AM

One of the AMs hoping to make it onto the ballot in the Welsh Labour leadership race says she doesn't want to be a token candidate.

Eluned Morgan - the only female in the contest - still needs the backing of one more colleague in the Senedd to make it to the final vote.

The Mid and West Wales AM has told us she has more to offer than just her gender:

' I was in the European Parliament for 15 years, this is the age of Brexit.

I've got a huge amount of expertise in this field in this area so you'd think that at least would qualify me to get on the ballot.'

The other AMs in the race are Mark Drakeford and Vaughan Gething.
