The Met Office has issued a yellow alert for the South Coast today - Wednesday 25th April.
We're expecting up to 40mm of rain to fall today. There are also strong winds, some gale-force.
The winds have caused scaffolding around a hotel in Southsea to collapse, hitting six cars parked nearby.
It happened at The Royal Beach Hotel in St. Helen's Parade just after 8 o'clock this morning. Police tell us no one was hurt.
The Environment Agency is urging people to:
- Be prepared to protect yourself, family, pets and property.
- Keep an eye on local water levels and weather conditions. Visit the Environment Agency website www.environment-agency.gov.uk for river level and flooding information.
- Avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
