Four People have broken into Comet on Auckland Road, stealing £26,000 worth of goods.

Sometime between 3:50 and 4:15am, Tuesday, August 28, four people arrived in a vehicle in the Comet car park.

They smashed the glass entrance doors and forced open the steel shutter before entering the store's stock room.

They stole laptops, iPads, digital cameras, satellite navigation devices and Kindles.

Detectives are appealing for information from anyone who saw a vehicle without its headlights on in the car park at the time of the break-in.

Trainee Detective Constable Martin Brewer said: "It is likely that the burglars were lurking in the area before the break-in. We would particularly like to hear from drivers who were in the area early Tuesday morning, in case they noticed a vehicle in the Comet car park.

"We also would like to hear from anyone who has been offered electrical merchandise similar to the stolen items since Tuesday."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Shirley CID on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity line on 0800 555 111.
